The finished Old One, finally! Here it is! I hope you like it! It's taken me som 96.5 hours to paint it so you'll better like it! :aww: The colour are not quite like in the original due to the scanning, but I tried to make it look as close as possible (the legs don't look that green normally). There's a colour/brightness deviation (haha) on the right side of it too, that's because it is scanned in 4 pieces. The arch and the Old One itself took all the time!!! Almost! :) More little details then I had intended. Anyway, it's based on the description in The Mountains of Madness by H.P.Lovecraft.

EDIT: Woo... it got a Mod's Choise on Elfwood! Yay! :w00t:

Hmm... strange... my reply got into the wrong place somehow... well, anyway! Thank you alot! :) It took ages, but it's my best painting so far. Glad you liked it! Oh, and it took 4 scannings, not 6 like I said yesterday. I think I can't count. :aww:

I love it ! I don't really see them like that but that's the beauty of it ! :D Your depiction is very very cool and the fact you display it so symetrical gives him a quasi classical look. Excellent job !

Thank you very much!! Glad you liked it! :) I think everyone sees them different, but I tried to follow the descriptions in "The Mountains of Madness" as much as I could.
I think I'm in love with them! They are so strange and truly alien feeling! :heart: I'm thinking of making one of the Great Race too... but maybe not... I like them too. :)
